After School Activities

Spanish (Mondays)

The classes will be themed based where the children will have a chance to speak, listen, and write Spanish.  The environment of the class will be fun and the children will learn through song, stories, making personal books, and games.

The classes will have a wide variety of entertaining classroom activities designed to reinforce vocabulary and everyday phrases.  Culture will be a part of many of the themes.  The materials used for these classes are pulled from a wide variety of sources in order to create the best classes for the student.

We welcome new students to our class: any child can join Spanish class, whether they took Spanish before or not.  We will continue to learn new phrases as we review the old material.  During this 8 week session I ask that the student come in every week ready to speak and learn as much as they can.  The first lesson we will be signing contracts stating that when they walk through the door, they will pledge to use only Spanish (or as much as they can) and no English.  I will give them a page of phrases that they can use right away so that they can practice and feel confident.  Practice is the name of the game when it comes to a foreign language and what better time to practice than the 45 minutes that they are with the teacher.  Respect and responsibility are important in my classroom so that the children who come to learn are able to practice their Spanish and learn new phrases.
